Amavinkivonko: Building Better Lives

Welcome to Amavinkivonko’s home on the web.

We’re a registered not-for-profit organisation (Registration number 019-723 NPO), entirely volunteer-owned and volunteer-led, and we’re dedicated to helping people in some of South Africa’s most deprived areas to build better lives for themselves.

We’re ambitious, optimistic and aspirational, and our aim is to make a real difference to the lives of everyone we help.

Reaching Out

Everyone who works for Amavinkivonko (say “Ama…vinki…vonko”) is a volunteer, giving their time, their skills and their dedication for free. Each of us reaches out to people in need, whatever those needs are. We believe in personal development and economic empowerment, so we place a lot of emphasis on education.

But we also do the little things, just to help make life that bit better. And we want to do more – much more. To find out about what we do and how we do it, click here.

A Real Difference

This is what Amavinkivonko is all about: making a real difference to people’s lives. It might be as simple as going shopping for an elderly grandmother or providing new shoes for a schoolkid.

Or it might be something bigger, such as helping to rebuild a home destroyed by fire, or organising a community event like a Christmas party or a dance class. Read how we are making a difference – just click here.

Get Involved

You too can make a difference, by getting involved with our work. It could be something as simple as becoming a regular volunteer, or helping with fundraising, or giving your time and skills. The Amavinkivonko Team
